The Asso di Quadri is not related to the Asso di Picche (1973) or the Asso di Fiori (1979), if only just in name. Giugiaro transferred the marked, aggressive lines of the Asso di Picche to a softer, more aerodynamic shape.
Visible drip channels were done away with. The windows, lacking chrome-plated rims and bonded to the bodywork, are both a step backwards (Canguro, 1964) and forwards (Isuzu Piazza).
