Itala 35 is a compact SUV that marks the beginning of a new family of models and a design language set to evolve across the entire range.
Italdesign’s contribution was developed from an existing technical base, with the aim of creating an instantly recognizable identity through design.
The design language defined by Italdesign is built around two key principles:
- Strength, expressed through taut lines, sculpted surfaces, and compact yet assertive proportions
- Elegance, conveyed through formal clarity, balance, and compositional coherence
The work focused in particular on:
- the reinterpretation of the front and rear sections
- the redesign of non-structural exterior components (bumpers, upper hood section, tailgate, spoiler)
- the definition of a coherent formal language applied to constrained elements, such as the lighting units
The front end becomes the focal point of the project, with the grille taking on a defining role for the brand identity, supported by a careful study of details and textures, such as the mesh pattern, which incorporates symbolic references to the Itala marque and to the city of Turin.
Overall, Itala 35 stands as a contemporary reinterpretation of the brand’s heritage, capable of shaping a renewed perception of the product without resorting to a radical formal break.
