The reciprocal admiration and friendship shared by Lino Sabattini and Giorgetto Giugiaro unfolded into the two creative-thinkers putting their minds together to develop two silver-plate centrepieces, fruit-bowls and decorative boxes.
In truth of word, this was really a “challenge” between two personages: Giugiaro created two designs both splendidly enthralling albeit arduous to realize in series by Sabattini, whether owing to moldability (the Duino model with a downward sweeping zenith forming the base) or cut and bending techniques (the Icaro model with wing-shaped trimmed cornice). At the end of the day, the models achieved are truly suggestive and unsurpassed.
