This morning, inside City of Turin “Palazzo Civico”, Italdesign signed, together with the Mayor Chiara Appendino, the memorandum of understanding “City of Turin Lab for Autonomous and Connected Driving in an Urban Environment”.
The goal of this memorandum is to create “Smart Road”, a project involving road infrastructures to test solutions for future mobility, specifically connected and autonomous driving; the City of Turin will give the companies signing the memorandum access to dedicated roads and telematics infrastructures, that already exist or that can be built on purpose.
“We’re really interested in signing this document – Member of the Board of Italdesign Salvatore Cieri said – it perfectly matches our company strategy. To create a virtuous collaborations between Institutions, companies and universities, is a fundamental and essential condition to make mobility research a reality. We have been cooperating with the City of Turin since several years, having their patronage for projects such Automobili Speciali and the Contest for Future Mobility Solutions in Cities we recently launched”.
At the ceremony were also present the Deputy Mayors for Transportation, Innovation, Labour and Trade and other companies based in Turin area.
