Vision

i2C aims to redefine the concept of national mobility in Indonesia, merging sustainability, innovation, and cultural identity into a vehicle that becomes a symbol of shared progress. It stands as a true expression of the country’s values, traditions, and industrial ambitions.
i2C marks the first step toward a new era of Indonesian mobility, where technology and culture move forward together, paving the way for a more conscious and inclusive future.

Key Highlights

Italdesign, in collaboration with the Indonesian government, has developed the design concept for the country’s first national electric SUV: i2C, a project that embodies the values of sustainable mobility, innovation, and cultural identity.

Designed to meet the institutional needs of the country and to serve as a symbol of unity in a deeply multicultural nation, i2C stands as a true cultural ambassador on four wheels. The design, jointly developed by a team of Italdesign professionals and Indonesian engineers, was conceived to express a strong visual identity and a spirit of adventure, without compromising elegance and functionality.

The stylistic language of i2C’s exterior is sculpted and boxy, with well-defined volumes and robust proportions that give the vehicle a bold and authoritative character. The vertical front and sculpted sides emphasize structural solidity, while the truncated rear enhances aerodynamics and interior space. The interior, on the other hand, features clean and essential lines that convey order and functionality, enriched with distinctive details designed to offer a premium onboard experience.

A particularly meaningful aspect is the tribute to Indonesian culture: iconic elements such as the Garuda, the national symbol of strength, wisdom, and sovereignty, and the refined patterns of batik, the traditional fabric representing regional artistic identity, have been harmoniously integrated into the vehicle’s design. These cultural references are not mere decorations but are integral to the project’s visual narrative, reinterpreted in a contemporary key to engage with the future.

TMI plans to introduce a complete version of this electric design concept at next year’s Automotive Show, following further design development and evaluation.
