These were the <b>principles<\/b> behind the <b>new<\/b> <b>Maserati<\/b>, introduced at the Frankfurt motor show in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>The <b>Spyder<\/b> was created under the new <b>Ferrari<\/b> ownership, as is evident in the installation alongside a conventional <b>6-speed manual gearbox <\/b>of an <b>automatic F1-derived transmission <\/b>on the <b>steering wheel<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The lines of the <b>Spyder<\/b> emphasise the <b>distinctive elegance <\/b>of <b>Maserati<\/b> <b>cars<\/b> and the outcome is a <b>dynamic car <\/b>with <b>compact dimensions<\/b>. The <b>chassis<\/b> is 220 mm <b>shorter<\/b> than that of the <b>coup\u00e9<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Distinctive features include <b>body-colour roll-bars <\/b>fitted behind the head restraints and <b>large tail light clusters<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>At the front, the grille features a <b>chrome trident <\/b>while the <b>historical oval Maserati shield <\/b>is applied to the
