{"id":2728,"date":"1971-01-15T22:09:25","date_gmt":"1971-01-15T20:09:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.italdesign.it\/project\/cheetah\/"},"modified":"2024-10-21T16:59:18","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T14:59:18","slug":"cheetah","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.italdesign.it\/en\/project\/cheetah\/","title":{"rendered":"Cheetah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The cooperation with Karmann&nbsp;comes up with the design of a roadster with low production costs, based on 1600 Beetle mechanics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooperation with coachbuilder Karmann<\/strong> began in 1969 for a project that will become the Volkswagen <strong>Scirocco<\/strong> in 1974.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For the 1971 Geneva Motor Show the project is for an <strong>economic roadster<\/strong> to be mass produced.<\/p>\n<p>It is based on the <strong>1600 Beetle mechanics<\/strong> and platform, and after the Tapiro, it represents another step into squared shapes.&nbsp;Cheetah&#39;s birth is contemporary to the Alfasud <strong>Caimano<\/strong>&#39;s, that will be premiered a few weeks later during the Turin Motor Show.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both prototypes share the same formal layout.&nbsp;The front of the car is characterised by the soft-nose and <strong>overhang lights<\/strong>, while the roll-bar has been substituted by two strong pillars that simplifies hard top mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>The engine is a 1,6 litres with 50 hp.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The cooperation with Karmann&nbsp;comes up with the design of a roadster with low production costs, based on 1600 Beetle mechanics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":2729,"parent":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"project-brand":[56,165],"project-category":[169],"class_list":["post-2728","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","project-brand-bmw","project-brand-karmann","project-category-automotive"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.2 -
