This city car, created out of the Lucciola of 1992, revolutionised the segment of compact cars destined for city use.<\/p>\n

The Daewoo Matiz <\/b>was the final outcome of the Lucciola project<\/b>, introduced in 1992 as a research<\/b> prototype<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The Matiz<\/b>, a compact MPV<\/b>, decidedly revolutionised the very concept of city-car<\/b>. Within a length of just 3.5 metres, it offered liveable space <\/b>for five passengers<\/b> and offered all the comforts<\/b> of a higher segment cars<\/b>.<\/p>\n

At the 1992 Turin motor show<\/b>, the Lucciola<\/b> was introduced as a car prototype <\/b>for recreational use designed mainly for town traffic<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The challenge<\/b> was to concentrate attributes formerly exclusive to a higher segment cars <\/b>within a car<\/b> of very compact size<\/b>: five seats<\/b>, five doors<\/b> and the ability to pass crash tests<\/b>.<\/p>\n

A few years later, the chairman of Daewoo<\/b> came across the Lucciola<\/b> when he was searching for a project of this type to launch. The determination<\/b> and conviction<\/b> of Daewoo<\/b> made it possible to create the Matiz<\/b>, a city car <\/b>that won major commercial success<\/b>, as borne out by sales of 2,500,000 in 10 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
