Structura: the body was conceived as a skin of metal coating leaving room for the lattice of the chassis.<\/p>\n

Structura<\/b> was a prototype<\/b> produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Italdesign Giugiaro<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Structura<\/b> transcended design<\/b> to emphasise the architectural form, the design<\/b> and technological aspect of what is not normally seen in a car<\/b>. The doors<\/b> were side hinged <\/b>without any central pillar between them. The rear door <\/b>only opened if the front door <\/b>had already been opened to ensure a high level of protection<\/b>, for example with children on board.<\/p>\n

The windows<\/b> were fixed<\/b> because Structura<\/b> was designed with a view to the future<\/b>, to new methods of communication with the outside world and also to the telematic toll payment systems<\/b> that would be introduced in years to come (the Telepass system <\/b>was introduced experimentally in Italy<\/b> to mark the football World Cup <\/b>of 1990).<\/p>\n

The seats<\/b> were positioned and produced so that it was possible to get into the car<\/b> easily<\/b>. This was facilitated by a completely flat floor <\/b>that improved entry<\/b> and exit<\/b> while also making for optimal passenger room<\/b>. The flat floorplan <\/b>made it possible to produce a false bottom <\/b>between the surface supporting the feet<\/b> and the actual floorplan<\/b> that could be used to contain various types of electronic<\/b> equipment<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The Structura<\/b> was fitted with a 5600 cc, 420 hp W12 engine<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The Structura<\/b> was the official car <\/b>for Turin<\/b> Candidate City for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games<\/b>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
