The first motor car developed fully by a Chinese automotive manufacturer marked the debut of the local motor industry.<\/p>\n

The Zhonghua<\/b> marked the beginning of a project<\/b> for the development<\/b> of cars<\/b> fully produced<\/b> in China<\/b> by a Chinese industry <\/b>but designed<\/b> for international markets<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Italdesign\u00a0<\/b>was called in to develop<\/b> a turnkey project <\/b>and therefore took care of the styling<\/b>, body<\/b>, chassis<\/b> and finish engineering<\/b>, structural<\/b> and safety analysis <\/b>carried out using CAD<\/b>, construction of models<\/b> and prototypes<\/b> for testing<\/b>, development<\/b> of electrical<\/b> and electronic systems<\/b>, even providing assistance<\/b> for the start-up<\/b> of the production<\/b> line<\/b> in the up-to-date new Shenyang\u00a0 plant<\/b>.<\/p>\n

On 16 December 2000 in Shenyang<\/b>, the China Automotive Company <\/b>introduced the Zhonghua<\/b>, top of the saloon range, measuring nearly 5 metres (4880 mm)\u00a0 in length.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
