A decisive turning point for Maserati, the outcome of a process designed to mark a break with the past in terms of design and engines.<\/p>\n

New engine<\/b>, new body<\/b>, new gearbox<\/b>, new transmission<\/b>. These were the principles<\/b> behind the new<\/b> Maserati<\/b>, introduced at the Frankfurt motor show in 2001.<\/p>\n

The Spyder<\/b> was created under the new Ferrari<\/b> ownership, as is evident in the installation alongside a conventional 6-speed manual gearbox <\/b>of an automatic F1-derived transmission <\/b>on the steering wheel<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The lines of the Spyder<\/b> emphasise the distinctive elegance <\/b>of Maserati<\/b> cars<\/b> and the outcome is a dynamic car <\/b>with compact dimensions<\/b>. The chassis<\/b> is 220 mm shorter<\/b> than that of the coup\u00e9<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Distinctive features include body-colour roll-bars <\/b>fitted behind the head restraints and large tail light clusters<\/b>.<\/p>\n

At the front, the grille features a chrome trident <\/b>while the historical oval Maserati shield <\/b>is applied to the bonnet<\/b>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
