{"id":1333,"date":"2006-11-15T22:09:24","date_gmt":"2006-11-15T20:09:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.italdesign.it\/project\/mustang-by-giugiaro\/"},"modified":"2024-10-21T17:06:17","modified_gmt":"2024-10-21T15:06:17","slug":"mustang-by-giugiaro","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.italdesign.it\/en\/project\/mustang-by-giugiaro\/","title":{"rendered":"Mustang by Giugiaro"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mustang by Giugiaro concept\u00a0is a much more contemporary remake of Ford&#8217;s pony car.<\/p>\n<p>The view of the <b>Mustang<\/b> by <b>Giugiaro<\/b> concept that its creator likes the best is the three-quarter rear view from above, where the <b>modelling<\/b> can be clearly seen in the crest of the fender that sweeps up with a visible curl, just a hint of the tail fins that were all the rage during the Fifties. The tail light, in three separate elements, is a return to the <b>origins<\/b>, taking up the theme of the first <b>Mustang<\/b>, the 1964 version, but reinterpreting it in an <b>arrow shape<\/b>, with a larger <b>external<\/b> element and a smaller <b>internal<\/b> one.<\/p>\n<p>This <b>arrow design <\/b>is reminiscent of the slatted effect that Fabrizio created on his <b>Mustang design study <\/b>in place of the rear side window on the <b>production<\/b> <b>car<\/b>. The top view highlights the <b>continuity<\/b> through the windshield, roof and rear window, a single curved glass panel. Actually the roof portion is made from a type of <b>crystal<\/b> produced by <b>Solutia<\/b> of <b>Detroit<\/b>, which filters out 100 percent of the <b>UVA<\/b> <b>rays<\/b>, thereby ensuring <b>optical continuity <\/b>of the shape while protecting the occupants from an overexposure to <b>sunlight<\/b>. The breakdown of the body of the <b>Mustang<\/b> by <b>Giugiaro<\/b> <b>concept<\/b> shows a tailgate hinged to the end of the roof, but it is just a simulation, because on the <b>prototype<\/b> this
