The Elsag Datamat digital terrestrial decoder.<\/p>\n

This is a high profile project <\/b>due to the intrinsically innovative<\/b> characteristics<\/b> of the product and thanks to the new synergies <\/b>resulting from the collaboration with Elsag Datamat<\/b>.<\/p>\n

From a technical<\/b> point of view, the decoder<\/b> will allow access to television<\/b> programs<\/b> in high-resolution<\/b> through a normal television<\/b>. The remote control <\/b>provided will be used to interact<\/b> with a browser for visiting Internet sites<\/b> from the comfort<\/b> of the user’s living room sofa.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the new Elsag Datamat <\/b>decoder will be equipped with universal USB ports <\/b>that will allow it to be connected to any electronic device <\/b>in the house<\/b>: a digital camera<\/b>, video camera<\/b>, hard-disk<\/b>, or pen drive<\/b>. In this way, the user<\/b> can set up his own cutting-edge multimedia centre <\/b>capable of integrating the MHP interaction standard<\/b> with the HDMI high-resolution system<\/b>. In the future, a simple smart-card reader <\/b>will allow access to all types of telematic services<\/b>.<\/p>\n

The design<\/b>, which Giugiaro Design <\/b>proposed in two versions<\/b>, fulfils Elsag Datamat<\/b>‘s demands for a highly distinctive <\/b>and high impact product. For a technological firm<\/b>, this is an investment in design<\/b> that will contribute to positioning<\/b> the decoder<\/b> in the high end market.
