The coupe of the future for the A0 segment. Strong heart and a gentle soul, just like the italian comics hero it\u2019s named after: Tex Willer. It marks the debut of Italdesign Giugiaro within the VW Group.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe conducted a research<\/b> study imagining the Volkswagens<\/b> of the upcoming future, cars<\/b> for the most part designed for the city<\/b> with our highly personal interpretation, for our debut within the Group. Tex<\/b> is our interpretation of tomorrow\u2019s sporty Volkswagen<\/b>\u201c, Giorgetto Giugiaro<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Go!<\/b> and Tex<\/b> have a least common denominator labelled Volkswagen<\/b>. These platform proposals, developed by Volkswagen<\/b>, show the future potential <\/b>of the modular transverse architecture (MQB= Modularer Quer-Baukasten<\/b>). In the future this architecture will indeed be able to house an electrical plug-in system, <\/b>a hybrid system, <\/b>a classical internal combustion engine <\/b>powered by petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG <\/b>and even hydrogen fuel cells<\/b> without distinction.<\/p>\n

The Tex<\/b> is fitted out with the hybrid plug-in system <\/b>called Tw\u00efn Drive <\/b>conceived and developed by Volkswagen<\/b>. The Tw\u00efn Drive <\/b>couples a 1.4-litre turbo internal combustion engine <\/b>with a battery-powered 85 kW peak electrical system capable of developing 400 Nm when used combined together. It has front-wheel drive <\/b>with a 7-gear Direct Shift gearbox <\/b>with gearshifting <\/b>on the steering wheel.<\/p>\n

Its performance is that of a pure sports car<\/b>. The Tex<\/b> is able to reach 100 km\/h from a standstill in about 6 seconds, and reach a top speed <\/b>of 220 km\/h. However, in this case sportiness<\/b> and eco-friendliness <\/b>are not worlds apart.<\/p>\n

The Tex<\/b> is able to cover approximately 35 km in the totally electric mode<\/b>, mostly enough for getting around during the day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
