SERVIZI / ENGINEERING

Contributing to the creation of a new vehicle is the true mission of Italdesign Giugiaro, which specialises in turnkey development projects. Developing a turnkey project essentially means providing customers with all the technical data they need to develop a project on the basis of an idea. All the customer then potentially has to do is develop the means of production and produce the vehicle.
The development process is complex and multi-faceted. It begins with defining specifications and then goes through the stages of style, engineering, supplier management, prototype development, testing, production line start-up - and vehicle validation and type approval. Once the first prototypes have been built, the stage of testing and validation begins in the laboratory and on the road to verify performance and compliance with set standards and safety parameters. This stage also considers noise, acoustic insulation, ride and road-holding. Italdesign-Giugiaro is partnered with many physical research centres in Italy, France, Spain and the UK. It is able to develop cars that comply with European, Japanese and US standards or that are destined for production within the most disparate countries in the world. At the end of the various sessions making up this stage, the necessary corrections are made to the design with the aim of preparing whole and improved prototypes to undergo the final stages of analysis. This stage concludes with final approval of the design and start-up of the final stage of developing standard production equipment.
