Starting from the client's product brief, where some distinctive marketing and technical features of the new product to be put onto the market are defined, the very first step before beginning the design phase is a 1:10 scale technical layout, with the overall dimensions of floorpan and mechanicals, the position of the pedal unit and the steering column and the seat location, a package which can be provided either by our engineers or by the clients themselves.
This early stage is crucial in our working method. We use to draw the lines of the body on a sheet of tracing (transparent) paper placed on top of the technical layout: in this way, every line is necessarily conditioned by the sizes of the mechanical parts, demanding from the very outset that all technical unfeasible ideas be rejected.
