The Buran, luxury saloon and ultra-high performing range leader looked imposing at nearly 5 m in length, (1630 mm), stood proudly high (1630 mm) and displayed generous width (1950 mm). An extremely decisive look was combined with ease of access to the passenger compartment (the second door is sliding) and an interior space that could be equipped with the most sophisticated services.
The general layout was inspired by the configuration of hatchback limousines with small boots. Elegance was also apparent inside, inspired by studies of the New York Taxi (1976) and the Megagamma (1978), converted to a lounge or office to optimise trips conducted either at racing or cruising speed.
The Buran was fitted with a 3217 cc, 370 hp 8 cylinder longitudinal front engine with permanent four wheel drive.

In 1976 creating a monovolume to increase general height of the car, improve access, comfort, brightness and visibility from inside, it's a revolutionary idea, that will soon become an habit.
