Makita‘s brief aimed at devising a family feeling for a series of small D.I.Y. tools for customers around the world to notice on department stores displays as belonging to one same, ambitious program.

Work was carried out to add formal and chromatic connotations to a philosophy concerned principally with ergonomics, simplicity, and user safety. Much thought also went into the problem of the weight of the fairings further to the quality and reliability of the basic materials.
