Giugiaro and Trenitalia, Italy's state-owned rail operator, have renewed their mutual collaboration, which began in 1989, creating a style research partnership for rail transportation vehicles.
The interior furnishings for all four Frecciarossa versions were designed at Moncalieri, taking the premise that, for the traveller of today, true luxury is comfort as the starting point. The design philosophy is based on concepts including space, high-tech and high-quality material and ergonomics.
Space on board is greater, both for seated passengers and for luggage. It is also easier to find your seat: a glass partition now separates the seating units; in addition to ensuring the privacy of the passengers, it bears the new seat numbering, which takes its cue from the world of aviation: divided by row and seat number. What's more, in business class, the seats - in leather for the first time - have adjustable headrests.
All versions feature a new lighting system. Thanks to LED technology, lighting becomes a structural element, resulting in more uniform and welcoming environments.
The new "executive" version represents ultimate comfort: inspired by "first class" on intercontinental flights, each carriage houses eight completely adjustable armchairs.
The final new feature consists of meeting rooms. They are kitted out with the latest technology and ensure maximum confidentiality, thanks to the adoption of glass walls which are reflective on the outside: they ensure optimum lighting and a sensation of space, without sacrificing privacy. A 32" monitor, connectivity for all types of device, the large table and seats by Okamura, the world-famous Japanese company and long-term collaborator with Giugiaro Design, complete the list of facilities on offer.
